About Cogent Clinical Trials

The Apex clinical trial is evaluating an investigational medication for the treatment of adults, 18 years of age and older, with Advanced Systemic Mastocytosis (AdvSM), a rare, aggressive, life-threatening disease caused by the abnormal accumulation of mast cells in different organs, primarily in skin and bone marrow. Patients diagnosed with AdvSM have evidence of organ involvement with organ dysfunction, such as evidence of bone marrow failure, an enlarged spleen, and/or enlarged liver with liver function test abnormalities.*

The Summit clinical trial is evaluating an investigational medication for the treatment of adults, 18 years of age or older, with Nonadvanced Systemic Mastocytosis (NonAdvSM), a rare, life-long illness caused by the abnormal accumulation of mast cells,a which can lead to unpredictable, severe and debilitating symptoms such as itchy skin lesions (referred to as urticaria pigmentosa), hives, flushing, diarrhea, vomiting, fatigue, and cognitive impairment. In addition, patients are at risk for unpredictable and potentially life-threatening symptoms such as anaphylaxis.b,c,d
